Both of these series are great examples of the fantasy mystery genre!
The Glass and Steele series focuses on Mat Steele, India Glass, and their close friends as they try to find a way for magicians and non-magicians to live together in peace. It is set in post World War 1 England with references to the USA and a few other countries. It ties in to the timely themes of acceptance and prejudice. Be aware that there are non-traditional relationships in several different senses.
The Glass Library series focuses on Mat and India's son Gabriel Steel and Sylvia Ash. Several other characters from the Glass and Steele series make appearances too although Mat and India are away in the USA. The mystery and romance are very much alive.
I love both fantasies and mysteries and was excited to find an author combining them along with historical fiction. I actually read the Glass Library series before I read the Glass and Steele series, but I didn't feel lost not having read them first. The series also has a satisfying helping of romance without going overboard.
This wonderful series is my absolute favorite of all time! It is a YA series set in the bustling metropolis of New York City. The story follows fifteen year old Clarissa Fray as she races to save her mother from an unknown force of darkness, and as she discovers the truth about her past. Of course she couldn’t embark on this journey alone. Jace Wayland aids Clarissa in the hunt for her mother, and for the truth of who she really is!
