Free Tax Prep through the AARP Foundation
The AARP Foundation is offering free tax prep and e-filing help at the following locations in Navajo County:
  • Whiteriver Masonic Lodge at 741 E. Whipple St in Show Low on Thursdays between 9 AM to 3 PM. Appointments are required.
  • Navajo County Complex at 2186 Country Club Drive in Overgaard on Tuesdays between 9 AM and 3 PM. Appointments are preferred, and walk-ins are welcome.

Workshops for Parents of Children with Special Needs
Do you have a child with special needs? Do you need help and tips for positive behavior support, dealing with IEPs, and/or handling a child that is turning 18 soon?

Come join Raising Special Kids at the Pinetop Fire Department on Tuesday, March 6th between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM for a free day of learning about these topics. Registration is required. For more information click here.
Skiers! It snowed!
Sunrise Park Ski Resort, on the Fort Apache Reservation, is reporting 10 inches of fresh snow to top its base of man-made snow. Snowmaking  continues at the ski area in the White Mountains and the slopes are open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily.
2018 Snowflake Caregiver Support Group
Do you need help finding resources and support while taking care of a Senior you care about? Starting Janurary 16th, come visit the Silver Creek Senior Center every other Tuesday between 1pm and 2pm to learn more about resources and find peer support from other caregivers like you!

Apache-Sitgreaves Observatory
Come and see the largest public observing telescope in Arizona. The Apache-Sitgreaves Observatory is located at Rustic Ct, Heber, AZ 85928, (480) 221-9738. The 36-inch telescope at Apache-Sitgreaves Observatory is 20% larger than the Mt. Lemmon telescope which has a 32-inch diameter.

Diabetic Discussion Group Meetings

If you are an adult with diabetes or are interested in learning more about diabetes, you are welcome to attend our monthly diabetic education discussion and support group, held the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Conference Room 2.   No sign up is necessary and there is no fee. Meets every other Wednesday from Noon to 1 p.m. in Holbrook at the Navajo County Public Works Building, 100 W Public Works Drive, Holbrook, AZ, south of Holbrook in the Chevelon Conference Room.
